“I Told Him To Go F Himself” – Ex-WWE Star Details Backstage Encounter With Shane McMahon
A former WWE superstar had some interesting remarks after recently seeing Shane McMahon, but there was also sarcasm involved.
Former WWE superstar Matt Riddle revealed that he was at the funeral for WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. Riddle said that his girlfriend is friends with Nick Hogan’s wife, which is how he got invited to the funeral, as well as Nick’s wedding.
When TMZ Sports asked if he saw Triple H or Vince McMahon at the funeral, Riddle said he thought it would be unprofessional to talk to them there. Riddle then revealed that he saw Shane McMahon.
“I did see Shane McMahon. First thing he said to me and he said it sarcastically, ‘Hey, nice hair.’ And then I’ll be honest, I don’t work anywhere really, I work for myself. He said that to me and I told him to ‘Go F himself’ and walked away.
To be fair, he was being sarcastic about my hair, I was being sarcastic when I told him to go ‘F off’ but in the world of pro wrestling, you never know. He might have taken that seriously.”
Shane McMahon’s Request To Brock Lesnar Was Denied
In the same interview, Matt Riddle shared a story about Shane McMahon’s attempt to slam Brock Lesnar during the 2022 Royal Rumble, which Lesnar, the eventual Rumble winner, shut down.
“They went a different route [from me winning], I believe Brock won. I’ll be honest, I remember being in the locker room because there’s a bunch of people, Shane McMahon, a bunch of people were there.
We had different ideas and plans and dude, [Brock] came in and was like, ‘I just did business for Bobby Lashley, you guys are all going to do business for me.’ Then, Shane McMahon mentioned and asked if he could pick him up for a spot and Brock just looked at him like, no.”
The 2022 Royal Rumble marked Shane McMahon’s last WWE match, as his unconventional ideas upset many people, and he was never put back in a WWE ring since then.
