Several People In WWE Pushing Company To Sign AEW Star

One soon-to-be former AEW star is wanted by WWE

On November 27th, QT Marshall announced that he was resigning from his positions with AEW, with the star becoming a free agent in January 2024. In a statement on social media, Marshall said that the company was going in a new direction, and it was time for him to do the same.

It’s believed that Marshall wanted to focus on his career as a wrestler, and that wasn’t going to happen in AEW. There were also reports that he felt the company was moving away from WWE-style angles, in favour of a more NJPW-like presentation.

A new report from Fightful Select has offered an update on Marshall and the interest in him. Fightful notes that MLW is planning to speak with Marshall about roles in and out of the ring, and they were surprised he was becoming a free agent.

There are also several people within WWE “pushing” for Marshall to be brought in as they feel he could help in a variety of roles.

QT Marshall Reportedly Removed From AEW Collision Thanks To CM Punk

During the early episodes of Collision, QT Marshall and his QTV segments were regularly featured, however, they were abruptly dropped.

It’s now been reported that CM Punk “didn’t want Marshall to be a part of Collision and didn’t see QTV as a productive part of Powerhouse Hobbs’ presentation.”

Seemingly in a bid to protect Punk, Tony Khan took the blame for the segments being removed, which damaged his relationship with Marshall. This left the situation between the pair “fractured” with Marshall feeling there was a lack of transparency over how and why the segments were removed. Marshall is said to have not believed Khan when he took responsibility, instead feeling that it was Punk who had him pulled from the show.
