Seth Rollins Reveals One Of The Lowest Moments Of His WWE Career
Seth Rollins knows what it’s like to miss a WrestleMania and didn’t want it to happen again.
When Seth Rollins suffered a left shoulder injury at WWE Crown Jewel in October 2025, he did so while doing a Coast-to-Coast headbutt to Cody Rhodes. Rollins landed hard on his left shoulder, won the match, and then had surgery soon after.
While Rollins would go on to miss the next months of in-ring action, the good news is he’s cleared and ready to go at WrestleMania 42 when he faces Gunther in a match that will take place on WrestleMania Saturday, April 18th.
During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, the 6-time WWE World Champion Rollins talked about returning to the ring at WrestleMania 42.
“Yeah. I mean, I’m back—back on WWE television, fully healed, fully cleared, ready to have a match at WrestleMania.”
Missing WrestleMania isn’t something that Rollins wants to experience again. It happened at WrestleMania 32 in 2016 when he was out of action due to a knee injury suffered in November 2015. With that in his mind, Rollins was motivated to come back from the shoulder injury. Rollins also added that the absence from WrestleMania was a low point for him.
“Man, I’m telling you—the idea of missing WrestleMania when I first got hurt in October, right—that was the first thing I thought of. I’m like, ‘I’ve got to get back by WrestleMania.’ Yes.
And I’ve been in this scenario way too many times—to get hurt and then maybe miss WrestleMania. I missed one WrestleMania in my career, and it was one of my lowest moments.”
Rollins also admitted that the match with Gunther came together quickly, since he was attacked by Gunther on Raw, which felt random at first.
“So I’m very happy to be back and be able to get in the ring—not just do, like, a run-in or anything like that, but actually have a contest wrestling one of the best in the world, GUNTHER. In a match that’s kind of come together over the last couple of weeks, and so I’m pretty excited for that one.”
Seth Rollins Will Be At His Best At WrestleMania
As for his mindset and how he’s feeling, Seth Rollins believes that he’ll be at his absolute best despite not wrestling in a WWE ring since last October.
“If anybody out there is wondering what version of Seth Rollins we’re going to get, I promise you right now—I will look you dead in the eye—you are going to get the very best version.
You are going to get the WrestleMania version of Seth Rollins that you know and are accustomed to. I will bring everything that I have got in Las Vegas.
Yeah, it’s exciting. I mean, it’s nerve-wracking anytime you come back and your first match is at WrestleMania. You don’t even get, like, a couple of trial runs or anything like that—you’re just into the fire. But I mean, this is not my first rodeo.”
