Chris Jericho suffered a shocking defeat in his return match at AEW Dynasty.

As was the case in his last two appearances, Jericho received a hero’s welcome at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Sunday.

The leader of the now-defunct Learning Tree stable returned during the Dynamite taping a couple of weeks ago after a nearly year-long hiatus.

While he did not say much that evening, he was confronted by The Demand’s Ricochet the following week.

Just as the 55-year-old was about to sign his new AEW contract, Ricochet advised him against it. Jericho then pulled out his “List” and added Ricochet’s name to it, much to the latter’s chagrin, setting up their match at Dynasty.

Ricochet Rains On Chris Jericho’s Parade At AEW Dynasty

Chris Jericho looked upbeat about competing in his first wrestling match in over a year at AEW Dynasty in his home country of Canada.

While the bout kicked off with a few goofy spots, the action picked up speed, with Ricochet gaining an advantage over his veteran rival. Gates of Agony’s Tao Liona, too, attacked Jericho when the referee, Aubrey Edwards, had her back turned.

The hometown wrestler put on brief resistance, which got the fans to their feet. The numbers game got the best of Jericho when Bishop Kaun attacked him as he tried applying a submission on Ricochet.

Chris Jericho retaliated with a Code Breaker for a near pinfall.

After a few more minutes of back-and-forth action, Jericho applied his Walls of Jericho submission on Ricochet, only for him to be pulled outside the ring by Liona.

In the closing minutes, Ricochet hit a few power moves, including a Shooting Star Press, a lariat, and a springboard Lionsault for the victory.
