Sasha Banks Reportedly Won’t Wrestle Again Until Next Year

A new report has claimed that Sasha Banks won’t be stepping back inside the squared circle for the remainder of 2022.

After recently being announced for the C2E2 Comic Convention under her real name of Mercedes Varnado, the fact that there was no mention to her WWE name or credentials has caused even more speculation that the former Women’s Champion may have left the company.

A new report from Fightful Select has now offered an insight as to when Sasha Banks will be both making public appearances and competing in the wrestling realm again.

The report notes that many wrestling convention organisers reached out to Banks once she was announced for C2E2, and whilst they were given a “firm, specific rate” for any appearances they were also told it would not be possible to make happen for the remainder of 2022.

A similar line was given to wrestling-related promoters, who were told Sasha Banks would not be available for bookings until after 1st January 2023. It is unclear at the moment whether this is a contractual date when she is allowed to appear elsewhere, or personal preference.

Although there has been no official confirmation from either ‘The Boss’ or WWE that she has left the company, it is seemingly being assumed by other WWE wrestlers that it’s the case, with one other promotor also commenting that they “can’t imagine her not being released at this point”.

Sasha Banks and Naomi have not appeared on WWE programming since walking out before the 16th May episode of Monday Night Raw, where they also reportedly handed their Women’s Tag Team Championships to John Laurinaitis before leaving the building. They have since been stripped of the titles, and seemingly removed from the company’s internal roster.
