Sasha Banks Undergoes Surgery

Sasha Banks Talking On Raw

Sasha Banks has told the world that she has undergone surgery while the star remains on hiatus from WWE after walking out of Monday Night Raw with Naomi.

On the 16th of May during Monday Night Raw, it was announced that WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi had handed over their title belts to Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis and walked out of Raw, despite originally being booked in the main event.

WWE then stripped Banks and Naomi of their championship and it was left to SmackDown announcer Michael Cole to reveal that the pair had been “suspended indefinitely” by the company.

With both women maintaining a fairly low profile since their walkout, Sasha Banks has now been featured on Newsom Eye’s social media as she undergoes PRK sight correction surgery on her eyes. Although in the video, Banks only refers to herself by her real name, Mercedes Varnado.

The Newsom Eye website describes why PRK is a preferable treatment to LASIK for athletes and says those who undergo the surgery can return to work within a few days – although this isn’t likely to be the case for Sasha Banks for other reasons:

“Patients that undergo PRK will take slightly longer to heal and see well compared to LASIK. PRK may sometimes be preferable to LASIK, particularly for patients who have hobbies or careers with a high risk of physical contact to the eye, e.g. athletes. Most patients feel comfortable driving and returning to work just a few days after their procedure. PRK is a remarkable procedure that often results in 20/20 vision or better.”
