WWE Star Made UFC Pitch Directly To Nick Khan

WWE President Nick Khan

A WWE star wants to try their hand at MMA.

Thanks to the monster deal by Endeavor in 2023, UFC and WWE are now closer than ever under the TKO Group umbrella.

Throughout history, there’s been no shortage of stars switching between pro wrestling and MMA with the likes of Ken Shamrock, Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, and Ronda Rousey, and more finding success in both disciplines.

However, with WWE and UFC now tied together, competitors on both sides of the fence are dying to test their skills in a new sport.

Speaking in a new interview with Comic Book, Montez reiterated his desire to try his hand at MMA, revealing Bobby Lashley thinks he’d do well.

“Bobby said I would do exceedingly well especially because he knows my training regimen and my drive,” Ford continued. “He knows by getting some assistance in that area, I should do exceedingly well. I can throw hands with anybody here backstage, including this one (Angelo Dawkins). I don’t get tired unlike some people. I’m very motivated to do so.”

Continuing on, Ford said he’d even made his case directly to Nick Khan.

“I even told Nick Khan, I said, ‘Hey, I know you’re doing all these crossovers, but if you need somebody to do another crossover and step to the octagon, I’ll be that guy,'”

Derrick Lewis Eyeing WWE Switch

While Montez Ford can’t wait to get inside the octagon, UFC star Derrick Lewis recently revealed he’s been in talks with WWE. Lewis has an MMA record of 27 wins, 12 losses, and one no-contest. The heavyweight star also holds the record for the most knockouts in UFC history.

Lewis is set to take on Rodrigo Nascimento at UFC Fight Night from St. Louis, Missouri on May 11th.
