WWE Hall Of Famer Criticizes CM Punk Segment From Raw

CM Punk Raw Kneel

A WWE Hall of Famer thinks that CM Punk’s most recent appearance on Raw was anti-climactic.

Since returning to WWE at Survivor Series last November, CM Punk has only had one televised match, which took place at January’s Royal Rumble. In that match where Punk finished as the runner-up to Cody Rhodes, Punk suffered a torn triceps when his right arm hit the mat while taking a Future Shock DDT from Drew McIntyre.

Punk went on to have surgery to repair the torn triceps and the hope is that he will be able to return at some point in the summer. During his recent appearances on WWE television, Punk has been without the big brace on his right arm, so he is making progress.

At WWE Raw in Hartford, CM Punk appeared unannounced after being “locked” in at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT over the weekend. On Raw, Punk arrived in a yellow sportscar just as his rival McIntyre left the building after he wasn’t cleared to compete due to a right elbow injury.

During his promo on Raw, Punk called for McIntyre to return to the arena so they could fight. Punk waited for about five minutes and there was no sign of McIntyre as the segment ended. Nobody else interrupted Punk either so it simply with Punk warning McIntyre that he was coming for him.

While talking about the promo on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley aka Bully Ray criticized the segment because nothing happened.

“I acquitted it to the first time Vince McMahon ever told me, if you’re going to pull out a table, make sure somebody goes through it cause it’s very anti-climatic.

We all thought that Drew was going to stop at the red light, see it on social media, turn around and come back in right? So let’s assume Drew stops at the red light, turns the car around, comes speeding back into the arena … they shoot to the back and there’s Drew, gets out of the car, slams the door shut, walks through the back, goes through gorilla, comes through the curtain, walks to the ring and there’s CM Punk, now what?”

It was later stated by Bubba that if McIntyre did return, there likely wouldn’t have been any physicality due to Punk and McIntyre dealing with injuries.

Drew McIntyre Issues Warning For CM Punk

In a response to CM Punk’s comments from Raw, Drew McIntyre went on social media to respond to Punk while also issuing a warning.

“Let’s break down what you’ve done since you’ve stunk this place up and break down is the operative word here. You’ve had exactly one televised fight which you lost, you got injured by me. You’ve hung around at TV, the headquarters, the PC like a bad smell. Go home to Larry. You’re playing a game of hide and seek and you think you’re winning, you’re not.

One last thing. I heard what you said. If you actually turn up to Glasgow, we protect our own. You’re not gonna leave in one piece and it won’t necessarily be at my doing mate. That’s fair warning.”

The show in Glasgow that McIntyre referenced is the June 15 WWE Clash at the Castle PLE in Scotland, which is where Drew is from.
