Saraya: I Was ‘A Little Rusty’ During AEW Dynamite Promo

Saraya

Speaking on a wrestling television show about Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, Saraya admitted that her promos aren’t the best right now.

One of the biggest storylines heading into Wednesday night that fans were excited for was Saraya doing her first promo for AEW. She made her debut last week at Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium, and going into her second week, she had some things to say.

However, it didn’t go well for the former WWE Superstar. Criticism was shot her way on social media because of her negative comments about her former boss and promotion, and with the live crowd, she didn’t get the reaction that she wanted after flubbing an insult towards Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

Formerly known as Paige in WWE, Saraya tweeted that the reason for not having a good showing during her promo was because she was “rusty,” but would give kudos to the other women in the segment.

“On a good note I’m so proud of the women yesterday. Not only did they get more than 5 mins to have a match. It was the first ever lumberjack match. A woman on commentary and a good portion of the roster being showcased. That’s a win (even if I was a little rusty)”

Coming out to do her promo, Saraya brought out Toni Storm, Madison Rayne, Athena, Blue Sky and Willow Nightingale, praising them for what they’ve done for the AEW Women’s Division. When Britt Baker D.M.D., accompanied by fellow heels Jamie Hayter, Rebel and Penelope Ford, showed up, the scheduled interim AEW Women’s World Championship match between Toni Storm and Serena Deeb transformed into a Lumberjack match.

It’s currently unclear if Saraya will actually wrestle in AEW, however, the latest intel has her being on the injured list. Things can always change i.e. Edge and Bryan Danielson, so we’ll see what’s in store for the 30-year-old with her being active in professional wrestling again.
