Saraya Provides Clarity On Health Status Of Her Neck

Saraya executes a Savate Kick on Rebel from AEW Dynamite 2022

Following reports that Saraya had been cleared for in-ring competition, she’s provided a positive update on the current state of her neck.

Saraya appears to be good to go.

The two-time WWE Divas Champion is feeling “fantastic”, as she told now-AEW colleague Chris Jericho on the latest Talk Is Jericho podcast. With reports emerging that Dr Michael Sampson cleared her for an in-ring return, Saraya is seemingly chomping at the bit to get back to action:

“It’s [her neck] good. Yeah, I feel really healthy and my neck feels fantastic. And I would definitely want to take it slower this time around, you know, if there was any physicality and stuff like that, I just want to really take care of my body. Because as much as I want to rush into doing all these different matches, I know what happened last time, right? So I just want to take it as slow as possible.”

Dave Meltzer wrote in last week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Saraya had been medically cleared for a return to the ring, though this is yet to be directly acknowledged by AEW. She did, however, get physical on the 5 October Dynamite for the first time since her injury, Roundhouse Kicking Rebel.

Arriving in All Elite Wrestling during the second-annual Grand Slam Dynamite, it marked Saraya’s first mainstream televised appearance since departing WWE, where she’d remained for the past decade. It’s said that then-WWE executives Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis made the decision not to renew her deal.

Whether or not Saraya actually wrestles again remains to be seen. It would mark her first bout since she, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville faced Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Mickie James on a WWE live event in Uniondale, New York on 27 December 2017.
