Roman Reigns’ WWE Legacy Allegedly In Danger
This former WWE star says Roman Reigns’ actions on the latest Raw episode might put his legacy in question.
2026 Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns, who will face CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42, has been closing out Raw these past few weeks with Punk in heated promo segments.
At one point in the second promo the two had, Punk made a below-the-belt remark about Reigns’ late father, which in turn angered Reigns’ cousins, The Usos.
On the latest episode, an angry Jey Uso confronted Punk in the ring before his brother Jimmy came out to calm him down. Roman Reigns eventually entered, but taunts from Punk couldn’t keep Jey from getting his hands dirty, and the Usos, as well as Reigns, ended up attacking the World Heavyweight Champion.
The segment closed out Raw with Reigns putting Punk through the announcer’s desk.
Big E Says Roman Reigns’ Legacy Could Be In Question
Former WWE star Big E noted in a new interview with Raw Recap that if The OTC keeps doing segments with Punk in which his cousins, the Usos, are involved, it could potentially put his legacy in doubt.
Big E explains that a massive top star like Roman Reigns should be able to face Punk solo without any help to protect his legacy. He notes that championship titles won aren’t the only thing that make up a wrestler’s legacy and that they need to have their credibility intact.
If we’re talking about legacy, legacy is not just about how many world titles you’ve had, but it’s also about how strong you are on the mic, it’s about your ability to stand on your own. I think, if Roman can’t do this without the cousins, without the Bloodline, I am not saying his legacy takes a hit, I’m saying maybe we start to question it.
You could argue the Summer of Punk, that was a lot of Paul Heyman, the 400-plus day world title run from over a decade ago, Paul Heyman was there for that, but much of CM Punk’s career, he’s stood on his own two feet, and I think that’s a lot of what his argument is, ‘Look, Roman, you claim to be the greatest to ever do it, you claim to deserve to be on the Mount Rushmore, I wanna see you mano a mano…’ That’s what I was looking forward to, and that’s what I wanna see.
Big E hopes to see Reigns and Punk face each other directly and quips that he wishes the “40-50 cousins” Reigns has would say away.
I hope at some point, on this road to WrestleMania, one of these Raws, we don’t get any shenanigans, no BS, we get these two gentlemen, these two titans, standing face to face. Leave all the cousins, we know there’s 40-50 cousins, leave them all in the back. That’s what I would like to see as a fan.
