Rob Van Dam Clarifies Rumors Of Heat With The Young Bucks

With Rob Van Dam having signed with AEW recently, he decided to clarify whether there’s still any animosity between himself and The Young Bucks.

RVD and the Bucks met many years ago in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling when the Bucks wrestled under the name “Generation Me”. When the two sides met for the first time, it was alleged that there were problems because the Bucks hadn’t shown RVD and also Booker T the proper respect owed to them as veterans.

Speaking on his 1 Of A Kind podcast, RVD explained what actually happened and what the actual reactions were to the original actions.

“I guess in WWE they didn’t introduce themselves, which to old school rules … it’s one of the Biblical commandments of the dressing room, especially when you’re new or you don’t know everybody. You’re supposed to introduce yourself.

“I just pointed that out, ‘Hey they didn’t shake my hand,’ or whatever but I also did throw in something that could be taken as an insult, which I didn’t own up to at first … I did say something about them looking like two high schoolers so that was provoking.”

Rob Van Dam confirms that he and The Young Bucks do not have any issues at this time

Additionally, RVD noted that he found the Bucks’ reaction to these alleged problems quite amusing, and that he doesn’t have any heat with the Bucks at this time.

“Then I saw while these two guys were in Japan, one of them is doing the “RVD” thing when they come out, and the other one’s doing Booker[‘s “Five Time” taunt].

“I thought that was great, yeah, but that’s the whole ‘heat,’ so I know of anyway. I thought that was great that they were capitalizing on it like that.”

Rob Van Dam is currently employed with AEW and had his first match with Jack Perry recently.
