With a recent AEW match having gone viral on social media, Road Dogg has taken to Twitter to call out those involved.

The October 17th AEW Dark: Elevation featured a divisive match between Athena and local talent Jody Threat, won by ‘The Fallen Goddess’ in just under five minutes. Although the match got off to a normal start, things took a turn for the worse when the former Ember Moon began laying into Threat following an alleged failed comeback sequence.

Footage of the over-physical match quickly went viral on social media, with many questioning and outright slamming Athena for her actions in the match. One source claimed in a Fightful Select report that she should have used the opportunity as a chance to “lead by example”, rather than make an example out of her opponent.

WWE Senior Vice President, Live Events Road Dogg has now taken to Twitter to blast Athena for her actions in the bout, claiming that there’s no place for behaviour like that in modern wrestling:

“This has no business in our business. It’s ugly and there’s no money in it! Small ball mentality Dirty Dutch!”

An aforementioned report issued by Fightful Select notes that AEW officials approached both Athena and Jody Threat backstage after the match to check on the pair. Luckily, there was no reported confrontation between the two over the incident.

The match was Jody’s first in AEW, marking her debut for the Tony Khan-helmed organisation in her home town of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Other debutants during AEW’s Canadian tapings included The Voros Twins, Kobe Durst, and The Bollywood Boyz, formerly The Singh Brothers of WWE.
