Final Opponent Of Ric Flair Revealed

Triple H and Ric Flair speak in the ring

Ric Flair will have his final match when he will collide with Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett on Sunday, 31 July!

Following rumours that Ric Flair would be stepping into the ring with WWF icon Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat many fans expected ‘The Nature Boy’ to be stepping into the ring for the final time in a singles match.

However, it has now been made official and Ric Flair will team with his real-life son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to take on Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal at the event. This will air live on Fite TV on 31 July, emanating live from Nashville, Tennessee under the Jim Crocket Promotions banner.

The announcement would come at the end of a special two-part video series documenting Ric Flair’s journey to his final match, complete with interviews from some of ‘The Dirtiest Player in the Game’s’ storied career.

More recently, Ric Flair had teased a current WWE Superstar to face him on the card. Possible considerations would have included Randy Orton, his former Evolution stablemate, or AJ Styles, who Flair managed during his time in IMPACT Wrestling.

Having previously retired at WrestleMania XXIV vs. Shawn Michaels, ‘The Dirtiest Player in the Game’ has worked sixteen matches since then. As well as Street Fights and Last Man Standing matches vs. Jay Lethal and Mick Foley, respectively, Ric Flair last wrestled in September 2011 as he lost to Sting on an episode of IMPACT Wrestling.
