Rhea Ripley may have dodged one bullet for WrestleMania but now at Elimination Chamber, she faces the biggest threat to her WWE title.
Bayley won the women’s Royal Rumble and had made clear in the run-up to that match that if she won she’d be challenging Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania. However, issues with Damage CTRL finally came to a head as Bayley revealed she knew all along that IYO SKY, Kairi Sane, and Asuka had all been talking about her in Japanese before she issued the challenge for WrestleMania to WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY.
On the Raw prior to that announcement, Rhea Ripley confronted Damage CTRL over a potential WrestleMania bout but she was soon interrupted by Nia Jax who attacked The Judgment Day star.
Rhea Ripley Set For Huge Showdown With Nia Jax
On Raw in St. Louis, Rhea Ripley was not happy and demanded that General Manager Adam Pearce make a title match for Elimination Chamber pitting Jax against Ripley. Pearce did so but then Jax attacked again, laying out Ripley with the Annihilator.
There will be another match on the Elimination Chamber card that will have major implications for either Ripley or Jax. A women’s Chamber match was set with the winner getting a shot at the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 40. Becky Lynch became the first star to qualify for that match when she defeated Shayna Baszler.
