Why Rey Mysterio Missed RAW Revealed- Reports
Rey Mysterio missed WWE Raw on Monday, January 12, in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Last week’s RAW episode saw a lot of action and drama. One of the main highlights of the show was Adam Pearce suspending Bron Breakker.
Dragon Lee & Penta faced The Vision (Austin Theory & Bronson Reed) on the show, but Breakker interrupted and attacked them. When Pearce confronted him inside the ring, he shoved the Raw general manager and threatened him. As a result, Pearce suspended him.
The show also featured Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez beating Bayley & Lyra Valkyria and The Kabuki Warriors in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match to become the No. 1 contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Plus, Gunther defeated AJ Styles in a hard-hitting singles match. While all this and more happened, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio missed the Jan 12 show.
Rey Mysterio Is Dealing With A “Minor Injury”
Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed the reason behind Rey Mysterio’s absence from Raw last week. He disclosed that Rey wasn’t on the flagship show last week because of a minor injury. But fans need not worry because he’ll be back soon.
“Rey Mysterio missed RAW this week due to a minor injury, but he’ll be back quickly,” Meltzer said.

Like Rey, his son is also dealing with an injury, but his is a severe one. Dominik Mysterio suffered a shoulder injury on December 20, 2025, at AAA’s Guerra de Titanes event in Mexico, where he teamed with El Grande Americano against Rey Mysterio and Rey Fenix in the main event.
During the match, his father, Rey, hit him with a DDT, and he landed badly, causing his shoulder to pop out of place. The plan is for him to be out for several weeks, with the hope that he returns around the Royal Rumble 2026 timeframe.
