Released AEW Star Steps Away From Wrestling At 31

Tony Khan AEW

One popular wrestling star has claimed they’re stepping away from the industry after their surprise release from AEW.

Tony Khan may have cleared the decks in AEW at the start of the year as several stars departed at the end of their contracts. But he’s been quick to add depth to his roster.

Former WWE star Zayda Steel is officially All Elite following several appearances as part of Sky Flight alongside Top Flight, Scorpio Sky, and Christopher Daniels. TNA’s loss was AEW’s gain when it came to light that Tony Khan had signed all four members of The Rascalz.

Therefore, there was a lot of confusion when the group made its on-screen debut on the January 17th edition of Collision, and only three of them were there. Desmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and Myron Reed emerged from a smoke-filled room to cut a backstage promo that left fans wondering about the whereabouts of Trey Miguel.

Trey Miguel Stepping Away From Wrestling After AEW Exit

It has been reported that AEW has released Miguel from his contract just days after signing with the company. No reason was given for the shock move, and things are said to be amicable between AEW and Miguel.

Miguel has released a statement on social media where he’s said he’s taking time away from wrestling, but urged fans to keep supporting The Rascalz:

Taking a break from wrestling. Please respect my space and don’t tag me in any posts or comments. Go support The Rascalz still.

Trey Miguel never followed his partners when they jumped from TNA to WWE in 2021. He did appear in a WWE ring with The Rascalz as part of WWE and TNA’s partnership in 2024.
