Triple H’s friend may have left WWE for a specific reason, says veteran.

WWE has been attempting to deal with the exit of one of its creative team members, Road Dogg (Brian James).

James, who is WWE CCO Triple H’s real-life friend, departed the company suddenly by stepping down as the co-head writer of SmackDown. James had returned to WWE in 2014 and had been working in a creative role since.

James gained popularity as a wrestler in the 1990s when he was part of the famous tag team The New Age Outlaws along with Billy Gunn, and was also part of the era-defining faction D-Generation X, along with Triple H.

Road Dogg recently stated that his departure was because he wanted to spend more time with his grandchildren. However, former WWE writer Vince Russo thinks that there may be a different reason.

Vince Russo Says Road Dogg May Have Quit WWE Due To Creative Differences With Triple H

Road Dogg and Tripl H can be seen arguing over booking an angle in WWE’s Netflix docuseries, Unreal, in its second season.

Vince Russo feels that Road Dogg may have looked at the episode and thought to himself that it would be better to quit rather than continue to be frustrated by WWE’s creative direction, which seemingly was not sitting well with him from what could be seen from the viral clip. He shared his thoughts about it on a recent episode of Coach & Bro.

I think, and I do not know this for a fact, I think Road Dogg saw Unreal and saw from the outside looking in how unhappy he was and how frustrated he was. I think he saw that, and I think he just asked himself the question, ‘What am I doing, man?’

The guy has had a long and illustrious career, he made a lot of money, he’s still employable if he ever wants to go back, but I think really the reality of life sunk in, and he’s basically saying, ‘Guys, I am not a lifer. There are things in my life that are more important.
