Raquel Rodriguez Sends 4-Word Message After Dethroning Top Champion On WWE RAW

Raquel Rodriguez celebrated her Women’s Intercontinental Championship match victory with a humble message.

On Monday, Rodriguez was set to challenge for the title held by Sol Ruca, who previously beat Becky Lynch at Clash in Italy to win the championship.

It was the second match between the two women this month for the gold. On the July 6 edition, IYO SKY helped Ruca after the champion found herself outnumbered by regular interference from The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan and Rocanne Perez.

SKY neutralized both Perez and Morgan, which distracted Raquel Rodriguez, allowing Ruca to hit her Sol Snatcher finisher for the win.

Last night, the story was more or less the same in terms of interference, with Roxanne and Liv making their presence felt in the match, forcing SKY to do her part.

In the closing minutes, Ruca again went for her Sol Snatcher, only for Roxanne to jump on the ring apron and cause the champion to hit her face on the steel turnbuckle.

Rodriguez soon grabbed her and hit the Tejana Bomb to get a successful pinfall and win the title for the first time on the main roster.

Following her victory, the 35-year-old took to X and shared her feelings of becoming a singles champion.

Rodriguez is also a former 5-time Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Raquel Rodriguez Busted Open On WWE Raw

Since the second half of 2025, WWE has presented Raquel Rodriguez as a force to be reckoned with.

She ended the year by unsuccessfully challenging for the Women’s World Championship, then held by Stephanie Vaquer, a couple of times.

It was a testament to Rodriguez’s growing popularity among the creative team. While the early 2026 showed slow progress for her, it looked like a title win was just around the corner.

On July 27, Rodriguez’s victory over Sol Ruca and her first Women’s Intercontinental Championship win were signs of bigger things to come in her future.

Nevertheless, it was a hard-earned win, and Raquel had the scars to show for it.

At one point in the match, Ruca attempted a moonsault to the outside on Rodriguez. Unfortunately, ‘Big Mami Cool’ sustained an injury to her nose and was bleeding profusely.

Referee Jessika Carr even attempted to give her a towel to wipe the blood off. Carr eventually helped her by wiping her face with a tissue mid-match, which is not common and is often done away from cameras.

While the victory was not a clean one for Raquel Rodriguez, it was a win nonetheless. As for Sol Ruca, she did not look pleased with The Judgment Day members interfering in the match.
