Randy Orton Makes A Huge Revelation About His WWE Contract
Randy Orton has a few years left on his WWE contract.
Orton started his wrestling journey in 2000 when he signed a deal with WWE and was sent to its developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. He made his first official WWE appearance in March 2002 at WrestleMania X8’s Fan Axxess.
Since then, he has been loyal to the Stamford-based promotion and has had many memorable feuds and countless matches against top superstars over the past two and a half decades.
Orton recently had an interview with The Schmo where he revealed that he has only four years left on his current WWE contract. He added that when his contract expires, he will probably wind down his schedule like The Undertaker and show up around WrestleMania every year until he decides to retire completely.
“I do have four years left on my contract and maybe when that’s over, I’ll get The Undertaker schedule and pop around for WrestleMania every year and then ride until the wheels fall off, literally.” [H/T Fightful]
Randy Orton Was Originally Planned To Win At WrestleMania
Randy Orton recently challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42 on Saturday. He failed to capture the championship and hence was unsuccessful in his attempt to become a 15-time world champion.
According to a report from Fightful Select, WWE initially intended to make Randy Orton the new Undisputed WWE Champion at The Showcase of Immortals, but they changed the booking decision in the last few weeks.
Randy Orton was in rough shape following his match with Cody Rhodes. Cody Rhodes also sustained an eye injury at Mania. Despite his significant eye injury, Cody Rhodes showed up at Monday Night Raw this week and had an in-ring segment with CM Punk, while Randy Orton was not present on the show.
According to WWE interviewer Jackie Redmond, fans may not see Randy Orton on TV for a while.
