Randy Orton Challenges The Rock to Wrestlemania Match, Has Praise for AEW Wrestler

TJR Wrestling

Randy Orton had a busy day yesterday in terms of sharing his opinions. Orton challenged The Rock, who will be on Smackdown tonight, to a Wrestlemania match on Twitter.

The Rock choosing to accept Orton’s challenge for a match at WrestleMania seems highly unlikely. Particularly when you take into account that, just two months ago, The Rock announced that he was retired from wrestling. In the wrestling business, you “never say never” as we all know. Orton then decided to share his thoughts on AEW’s debut show while playing Call of Duty on Twitch.

“Speaking of Vince, that AEW was f–king cool, huh? Did you watch that show last night? Oh my God! I’ll tell you what. It’s that big match feel, the big show feel.”

Finally Orton, gave high praise to the opening match of AEW: Dynamite, between Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara.

“Cody and Sammy Guevara, that kid can do some s–t. I’d love to work with that kid. They had a great match. I thought opening the show with that match was a good idea and well received.”

Matt’s Musings: As for Orton praising AEW, while playing a video game, potentially intoxicated? I’m sure Vince McMahon and WWE’s top people weren’t thrilled when they were made aware of it. Orton, however, is a legend who has been with the WWE for a very long time (17 years on the main roster), so I doubt he will receive any consequences from it.
