R-Truth Bursts Into Tears Talking Relationship With WWE Legend
R-Truth has a long, close relationship with Road Dogg that goes back to the late 1990s.
Road Dogg is the person who got R-Truth his first WWE contract as K-Kwik in 1999. After seeing Truth wrestle in Memphis and hearing him rap, Dogg told him not to quit wrestling and promised to bring him up to WWE TV, eventually making him his tag team partner in the Attitude Era.
They teamed as K-Kwik and “Road Dogg” Jesse James on late-’90s Raw, forming a short-lived but memorable rap-style duo in the Attitude Era. Even after Truth left WWE in 2001, their bond stayed strong.
R-Truth Is Grateful To Road Dogg
Dogg has been R-Truth’s strong advocate behind the scenes. Speaking on WWE: Unreal Season 2, R-Truth discussed his relationship with Road Dogg. He shared how much importance the WWE legend holds in his life.
He don’t realize where I was at, you know what I’m saying? Like, he don’t, he thinks he knows I’m like, “we’re brothers,” but like, bro, I had given up when I was in Memphis, man. He took me under his wing. He took me under the wing. He took care of me. He would jeopardize his shit, man, like, to speak up for me. So yeah. Yeah, man, he got, he’ll always have a spot with me.
In the second season of WWE: Unreal, Road Dogg also talked about his relationship with R-Truth. He even broke down in tears while describing their special bond.
