While no wrestling reports indicate a Lucha Brothers reunion, the idea has been pitched.

At Rey de Reyes on Saturday, former AEW star Rey Fenix opened the show, introducing his older brother Penta as the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.

Penta, who has also previously represented All Elite Wrestling, showed love for his sibling while announcing that he would be a fighting champion and defend his title in both WWE and AAA Lucha Libre.

Both Penta and Rey Fenix are well-known for teaming up as Lucha Bros in the independent circuit as well as AEW. However, they have yet to compete together in the Stamford promotion.

Their reunion is especially difficult at the moment because Penta is on Raw, whereas Fenix competes on SmackDown.

Speaking to SA Live ahead of the March 16 taping of the red brand, Penta was asked about a possible reunion with Rey Fenix, something he hopes will transpire in the Triple H-led company.

I hope soon. You know, the Lucha Bros career was amazing like 20 years ago. Now my brother start working in different places like SmackDown and Penta on Raw. But I’m sure, and I know the people are sure, maybe when the Lucha Bros are getting together (it’s going to be a sight to see). [H/T: Fightful]

Penta Defends His WWE Intercontinental Championship On Raw

Penta won the Intercontinental Championship a couple of weeks ago by defeating Domink Mysterio on WWE Raw.

On March 16, he defended it for the first time against a surprise opponent, who turned out to be fellow luchador, Dragon Lee.

In 2025, Lee, along with AJ Styles was the Tag Team Champion for 70 days between October and December.

Lee and Penta produced a classic match that witnessed high-intensity and fast-paced action, keeping fans invested throughout.

Although in the end, it was Penta who retained his title by hitting the Mexican Destroyer on his masked opponent.
