Paul Wight On Why He Refused To Jump Out Of A Fort Tower

Paul Wight has recalled coming up with a very special reason why he couldn’t launch himself from a jump tower at a US Army base. Wight’s reasoning was quite logical!

Wight was recalling his trip to Fort Bragg military base to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast and discussed how he came up with his own very special illness to get out of jumping from a great height.

Wight explained:

“Years ago me and Mark Henry were at Fort Bragg with the soldiers, and we were at the jump tower. The soldiers were all like ‘Yeah you gotta go out of the jump tower. We will build you a harness to go out the jump tower.’ I’m like build me a harness? I’m good bro. I’ve got O.R. disease. Mark Henry, my best friend, puts his hand on me and he goes ‘You’ve got O.R. disease? What’s that man?’ I’m like I’m old and I’m rich, I’m not doing that crap. There will be no Paul Wight jumping out of planes any time soon.”

Fort Bragg in North Carolina is one of the largest military installations in the world. It is home to the Airborne and Special Operation Force. Fort Bragg also houses the XVIII Airborne Corps and the 82nd Airborne Division, the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, and the U.S. Army Parachute Team [the Golden Knights].

Long-time fans of Paul Wight may remember his debut match as The Giant at Halloween Havoc 1995 against Hulk Hogan for the WCW Title. The match began with a monster truck ‘fight’ on top of Cobo Hall in Detroit. After Hogan’s truck managed to push The Giant’s ‘Dungeon Of Doom’ truck out of the circle for the win, the two men began trading blows on the roof of the building. Ultimately, Wight was seen being thrown off the side of the building but managed to re-emerge for the main event when he won the WCW Championship.

If Paul Wight is still suffering from O.R. disease then don’t expect any of the same shenanigans when Wight goes one on one with QT Marshall at All Out.

Paul Wight is headed to the UK this October for his first-ever spoken word tour with Inside The Ropes. The 3-night tour takes in London, Manchester, and Glasgow with VIP and general tickets available at ITRTix.com.
