Oba Femi is set to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas this year.

On the March 16 edition of Monday Night Raw, Femi confronted Lesnar while he was in the ring with Seth Rollins and took out The Beast Incarnate with a massive power bomb, thereby officially accepting Lesnar’s open challenge for this year’s Mania.

Ahead of his highly anticipated clash with Lesnar, Femi sat down for an interview with SHAK Wrestling to promote his Mania match. During the conversation, he was asked to address the possibility of winning a main roster championship while still in his twenties.

Oba Femi Believes He Will Soon Win A Championship On The Main Roster

Oba Femi, a former NXT and NXT North American Champion, said he is confident that he will soon win a major championship on the main roster.

“I think the odds are very high. They’re stacked in my favor. Like, I said, I’m young, I’m spry, I’m ready to go. I’m hungry — hungrier than a lot of these 47-year-olds, I’ll tell you that.”

“So I think we’re going to see that happen very soon, because it’s not just me. It’s me, it’s Bron [Breakker], it’s Dominik [Mysterio]. There’s so much going on right now when it comes to the young talent.”

Oba Femi admitted that the older talents in the company are still performing at a high level, but they are nearing retirement, which would create more opportunities for younger stars like him to shine.

“Well, it’s very good because at the end of the day, those older guys are doing their thing — they’re killing it — but at the same time, Father Time always wins. A lot of them are 44, 45, 46. They’re on their way out. They have one foot out the door.”

“So this is the time for someone like ‘The Ruler’ to come in, take their place, and fulfill that destiny. I’ve built trust with them. I’ve built equity in NXT with everything I did with the NXT Championship — all those classic matches I had. I feel like when they’ve seen the body of work, they’re like, ‘Okay, we have something here.’ So I think it’s good that they’re putting that trust in me because I think it’s well deserved.”
