NXT Star Credits Charlotte Flair For Inspiring WWE Career

Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair has been named as the inspiration for one of NXT’s top Superstars for why they wanted to join WWE.

The Queen had not been seen in WWE since losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39.

But after a shock return on last week’s SmackDown, Charlotte Flair is looking to reclaim her place on the throne of the women’s division.

According to a current NXT Champion, seeing Charlotte perform made a huge impact on their decision to become a Professional Wrestler, and why they applied to work for WWE.

Tiffany Stratton made her debut in NXT in December 2021 and has shot to the very top of the company due to her in-ring ability and popularity.

Stratton became NXT Women’s Champion after defeating Lyra Valkyria at NXT Battleground and after appearing on UpNXT opened up on just how influential the 14-Time Women’s Champion has been on her career.

“Well, obviously the Queen herself, Charlotte Flair [inspired me to become a wrestler]. I was actually switching through the channels one night and I saw her on my screen. I think it was a random SmackDown, and I saw her.

She’s blonde, she was jacked, and I thought to myself, ‘I could totally do that.’ So I immediately submitted my application on the WWE website, and I never heard back. So I submitted it again, and again, and again. I still heard nothing.

So what I did is I found a connection. His name was Greg Gagne. He actually agreed to train me for a little bit, and actually, I took my first bump and he immediately said, ‘This girl has IT.’ So he called Stephanie McMahon, who got in contact with Triple H to get me a tryout and they finally agreed to give me a tryout.

They flew me to the Performance Center and then COVID hits, so they had to fly us all back home. I didn’t get invited back for another year and a half and what it did in that year and a half is I went through a bodybuilding prep. I CrossFit’d, and I continued to train in the ring that I first ever took my bump in.

Then I finally was invited back and immediately they signed me and now look where we are,”

Stratton went on to share another of her Tiffany epiphany’s and declared her desire for a match with Charlotte Flair.

“I would have to say a Triple Threat between me, Charlotte Flair, and Bianca Belair. I think we are all highly athletic. We’re all highly competitive, and I honestly believe you will not find a better Women’s match in history,”

Following Charlotte Flair’s surprise comeback, WWE has confirmed the pair will collide on the June 30th SmackDown with Bianca Belair looking on as she awaits a rematch for the Championship she lost to Asuka at Night of Champions.

Meanwhile, Tiffany Stratton will now defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Thea Hail, after the Chase University member won the Number One Contenders Battle Royal on the June 6th edition of NXT which saw the return of Raw Superstar.
