Nick Khan & 2 WWE Stars’ Contracts Expiring Soon
WWE President Nick Khan’s contract with the company is expiring soon, but he’s not the only one.
Nick Khan first joined WWE officially in August 2020 as the company’s president and Chief Revenue Officer. Following Vince McMahon’s first retirement in July 2022, Khan joined Stephanie McMahon as co-CEO of WWE. Khan was left as the sole CEO of WWE in January 2023 when Stephanie McMahon left the company after Vince McMahon forced his way back into power.
In September 2023, WWE was officially taken over by Endeavor, with a new umbrella company, TKO Group, being formed to oversee the sports entertainment giant as well as UFC. Khan was named as WWE president and given a place on the TKO Board of Directors. The takeover also proved very lucrative as Nick Khan netted an incredible bonus when it was completed.
Nick Khan Nearing WWE Exit?
Sean Ross Sapp noted in the Fightful Select Answers Q&A when asked about expiring contracts that The Miz and Dragon Lee both have contracts that expire at the end of 2025, unless extensions have been given. It was also mentioned that Nick Khan’s employment contract with WWE is also up at the end of 2025.
Questions have been raised over The Miz’s status in WWE in recent weeks. The former WWE Champion broke his silence on the rumours recently, but it remains to be seen if the company will continue his run with them past the end of 2025. The Miz hosted the recent reboot of American Gladiators, which featured AEW contracted stars such as Wardlow and Kamille.
Dragon Lee announced he was joining WWE after helping defeat AEW team FTR in December 2022 on an AAA show. Lee’s in-ring success was mainly limited to his run in NXT and as WWE Speed Champion, but the Mexican star has also been part of the LWO. Tony Khan has explained how he was left unhappy by AAA’s betrayal, which led to Lee’s announcement that he was signing with WWE.
