Nia Jax Issues Heartbreaking Apology To Released WWE Star
Nia Jax felt bad about her WWE performances while working with a former superstar.
The Irrestible Forces tag team of Nia Jax and Lash Legend became WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions for the first time on the February 27th edition of SmackDown when they beat Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky to win the titles.
For Legend, it was the first title she has won in WWE, including NXT. The pairing with Jax has been huge for Legend, who clearly has a bright future while teaming with a more established wrestler like Jax.
Meanwhile, Nia Jax is no stranger to tag team gold. Jax is a former 2-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion with Shayna Baszler, who was released by the company. Jax was a tag team champion with Baszler during her first WWE run from 2014 to 2021. Jax returned to the company after the Royal Rumble in 2023.
Nia Jax Wasn’t At Her Best When Teaming With Shayna Baszler
Since Nia Jax came back to WWE in early 2023, she has been in the best shape of her career. The company clearly has been impressed since Jax won the Queen of the Ring tournament and had a second run as the WWE Women’s Champion as well.
While looking back on her first run with WWE, Jax admitted to Ring the Bell that she felt bad about how she looked when she was teaming with Baszler.
“Shayna is one of my closest friends outside of work as well.
I just remember looking at her when I watched myself back and saying, ‘I’m so sorry that I didn’t give you the best that I could have given you just because I wasn’t my healthiest.’ I saw that I moved slower, I wasn’t crisp enough, I wasn’t there.”
