Myles Borne Accepts NXT North American Championship Match To Kick Off The Show
Tonight’s edition of WWE NXT served as the go-home episode for this coming weekend’s Vengeance Day Premium Live Event, where Joe Hendry will defend his NXT Championship against Ricky Starks.
While the Men’s championship scenario has a clear path, the same can’t be said about the Women’s roster. Sol Ruca faced Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship last week, but was attacked by her former tag team partner, Zaria, costing her the match.
Zaria is now set to face Jacy Jayne for the title tonight, as was made official last week on the black and silver brand. While Zaria looked to become a champion tonight, a recently crowned champion opened the show.
NXT North American Championship defense kicks off the show
Newly crowned NXT North American Champion, Myles Borne, kicked off the show tonight as he thanked Ethan Page for lighting a fire under him, which led Borne to beat Page for the championship.
Ethan Page was quick to cut the champ off, and he came out to the ring to ask Myles for a rematch for the championship. Borne accepted Ethan’s challenge and they agreed to have a title match right then and there.
Interim General Manager, Robert Stone, tried to talk some sense into these two rivals and asked them to get in their ring gear, but they refused to do so and started the match, while still dressed in pants and shirts.
