MJF Critical Of Specific Type Of “Garbage” Stipulation Match In AEW
MJF doesn’t like a specific type of “garbage” stipulation match that AEW has done several times in the past.
The AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman is going into the Revolution PPV as the World Champion, but some people might say he’s not the favorite to win.
A big reason why MJF may not be considered the favorite is that he’s facing the former 2-time AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match, which is a match stipulation that Hangman has never lost.
There is another huge stipulation in the MJF-Page, too. That stipulation states that if Hangman fails to win the AEW World Title, then he will never be allowed to challenge for the title ever again.
MJF Believes A Texas Death Match Is “Very Indie Trash And Garbage”
In an interview with 107.7 The Bone, MJF made it clear he didn’t like the Texas Death Match stipulation, but the champ remains confident.
“Look, it’s complicated. You know, a part of me is obviously upset. I don’t believe in this kind of professional wrestling. I think this kind of professional wrestling is hack and very indie and trash and garbage, which is why Hangman loves to do it.
But the part of me that is happy is I really know for a fact I’m going to win. There’s no part of me that’s questioning that. The idea of ensuring that he could never be world champion again, just literally, if you see this belt move, it’s because I can get hard just at the thought of it. I mean, honestly, it’s incredible.” (H/T Fightful)
As always with MJF, he could be making those comments in character, but there could also be some truth in it.
