Sasha Banks is no more, according to Mercedes Varnado herself.

Earlier today, Mercedes Varnado posted a series of tweets thanking different people that influenced her life and wrestling career. She tweeted out individual thanks to WWE, Triple H, Vince McMahon, William Regal, the WWE Universe, her fans, and Sasha Banks.

Varnado is now considering herself a separate entity from her WWE character, Sasha Banks.

Although the tweets show the local time when they were posted, she posted them on January 4th as it is already that date in Japan.

Mercedes Varnado is expected to make an appearance at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event, which will be airing live in a few hours. Most fans believe she will be involved in the IWGP Women’s Championship match, most likely as the next challenger following the title match between KAIRI and Tam Nakano.

Sasha Banks’ last WWE appearance was back in May 2022 when she and Naomi were WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. But after a creative dispute, both of them walked out of the company and haven’t been seen since.
