Matt Hardy Provides Timeline For Jeff Hardy’s AEW Return

The legendary Hardy brothers could be reunited on AEW television according to a recent update by Matt Hardy about his brother Jeff.

It was just over a year ago in March 2022 when Jeff Hardy made his AEW debut after leaving WWE. Not surprisingly, Jeff was quickly put with his brother Matt to re-form the legendary Hardy Brothers tag team (aka The Hardy Boyz in WWE). Sadly, Hardy’s run in AEW only lasted about three months when he was arrested.

Jeff Hardy, who is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling, was arrested on June 13th, 2022 for driving without a license and being three times over the legal DUI limit. In February 2023, the case was closed after Jeff submitted a written plea of Nolo Contendere (No Contest) to all charges. As a result of the plea, Jeff Hardy will have a suspended driver’s license for the next ten years and he will get credit for 38 days in county jail as a part of the sentence.

Since Jeff is free of those charges and went through a lengthy stint in rehab, fans are wondering when the former WWE & TNA World Champion is going to be back in the AEW ring.

While talking to AEW wrestler Isiah Kassidy on his YouTube channel, Matt Hardy noted that we might be about two months away from Jeff Hardy’s AEW return.

“Jeff just had some eye surgery. His eyes were just a little off-set, it’s just probably from wear and tear and beating his body up. They had to work on some ligaments and tendons in one of his eyes. So they corrected that [with] surgery and they said probably in five, six weeks, he should be okay.”

As he continued, Matt Hardy spoke about how he hopes to see Jeff back in AEW in about six to eight weeks.

“So I’m hoping after that, now that he’s kind of putting this whole situation behind him, that we’ll see him back around soon. I’m hoping so, man. You guys keep your fingers crossed. Maybe six, eight weeks from now, hopefully we can see some Jeff Hardy on AEW.”

Last week on AEW Dynamite, Matt Hardy finally turned on Ethan Page, who technically owns his contract in the storyline. The story should continue to progress from there.
