Matt Hardy hopes he still has the chance finish his pro wrestling career in style…alongside his brother Jeff.

Matt Hardy debuted in AEW in 2020 and Jeff earlier this year. When Jeff debuted, it looked like there was going to be a proper Hardy Boys reunion. However, those plans were scuttled when Jeff was arrested following a DUI in June.

Jeff’s future in wrestling remains uncertain as he deals with the legal fallout of his actions. As for Matt, he would prefer to end his wrestling career with his brother at his side. In an exclusive interview with Inside The Ropes, Matt explained that:

“Yes, I would like to go out as The Hardy Boyz,” Hardy replied. “That was kind of how we came in, and I think we would like to go out on that note, and we would like to do everything that we can in AEW together obviously.”

Matt Hardy also talked about some of the frustrations he has endured in recent years, such as having a debut in during the COVID pandemic and a creative idea to reconcile with Private Party.

“I definitely want to have a great run here in AEW with Jeff. And that is my goal. Whenever that happens, it happens. But until then, I’m happy that I’m keeping my time busy and actually involved in a story on programming — the stuff that I’m doing with Private Party.”
