Matt Cardona Adds Fuel To Feud With WWE SmackDown Star
Matt Cardona has got personal as his feud with a WWE SmackDown star heats up.
On the first SmackDown of 2026, Matt Cardona made his shocking return to WWE as the surprise opponent of Kit Wilson. Cardona had been a part of the Last Time Is Now Tournament towards the end of 2025, but that return took place under his old Zack Ryder moniker. Cardona picked up the victory on his return.
Since the horrific injury to his Pretty Deadly partner, Elton Prince, Wilson has taken on a new character, one centred on toxic masculinity, and he proved to be pretty toxic when he ambushed Cardona following the star’s loss to Trick Williams. Wilson has also claimed that Cardona legitimately injured him, causing the feud to heat up.
Matt Cardona Gets Toxic
Now taking to social media, Matt Cardona has poured fuel on the fire of the feud as he took a cheap shot at Kit Wilson’s supposed breath issues, writing:

Neither Cardona nor Wilson has declared their entry into the 2026 Royal Rumble, but with only 15 male stars known to be part of the match, despite Raw General Manager Adam Pearce telling Finn Balor the bout was full, there is still plenty of opportunity for them to rekindle hostilities with a title shot at WrestleMania 42 on the line.
