Major WWE Women’s Title Defended On Friday Night SmackDown

The first match on WWE SmackDown tonight saw the team of Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY defend their Women’s Tag Team Championships against the duo of Kiana James and Giulia.

Tonight marked Rhiyo’s second title defense in quick succession after they defended the title against The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez at last month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.

However, before they even had their match with Morgan and Perez, they knew who they’d have their next defense against, as Kiana James and Giulia had won another number one contender’s triple threat.

Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles

Both teams wrestled an entertaining match, which saw Kiana and Giulia put in a solid performance against the champions, but they eventually came up short tonight.

The heels dominated for large parts of the match, but weren’t a match for the teamwork that Rhea and IYO showcased as they picked up the win with a Riptide and Over-the-moonsault combination to retain the titles.
