Major WWE Star Teases Return Of Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone

A top WWE star has hinted that Mercedes Mone could return to the company.

Mercedes Mone hasn’t stepped into a WWE ring since May 15th, 2022 when she teamed with Naomi at a live event. The following night, the star known as Sasha Banks at the time, walked out of the Monday Night Raw taping along with Naomi reportedly following a row over creative.

The multi-time Women’s Champion wouldn’t return to wrestling until January 2023 when she debuted in NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom.

Mone is currently out of action with a broken ankle, but speculation about her future continues to swirl.

The star’s good friend Bayley has now added to the chaos, sharing a photo featuring the pair on social media, with the caption “I’ve always got a plan.” Bayley is currently having her own issues within Damage CRTL following the arrival of Kairi Sane at Crown Jewel.

With WWE, Mone competed against Bayley in a number of acclaimed matches, as well as winning tag team gold.

Mercedes Mone Would Be a “Great Addition” To AEW

While a return to WWE would seemingly be a long shot given the circumstances of her departure, Mone has been heavily linked with a move to AEW. Tony Khan has repeatedly talked up the star, and she appeared in the crowd at All In back in August.

Speaking at the Full Gear media scrum, Tony Khan said Mercedes Mone would be a “great addition” to the AEW roster.
