Major WWE Star Expected To Return Soon

A big name is coming back to WWE television soon, according to a new report.

Charlotte Flair has been absent from WWE television since WrestleMania Backlash on May 8th. That was the night when Ronda Rousey put an end to Charlotte’s 198-day reign as the Smackdown Women’s Champion. During her WWE career, Charlotte Flair is a 13-time Women’s Champion on the main roster and a two-time NXT Women’s Champion as well.

Following her title loss to Rousey, Charlotte Flair got married to Andrade El Idolo of All Elite Wrestling in May.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (available via subscription), Dave Meltzer reported that WWE’s creative team is “making plans for the Charlotte Flair return.”

There is no info on when Charlotte’s return might happen whether that’s at the Royal Rumble or some time before that. As WWE fans know, a lot of times there are surprises in Royal Rumble matches, so that could be when she returns although it could also be before that.

It is unknown if Charlotte Flair will be back on Smackdown or be moved to Raw. Her father, Ric Flair, has talked openly about Charlotte’s return and how he wants to see her against Raw Women’s Champion. Ric also said she was in amazing shape as she prepares to come back. This is what Ric said last month.

“Absolutely, and probably in the best shape of her life. I think it’s probably a mutual decision between her and the company as to when she comes back. It’ll be I would assume under the perfect circumstance. She’s the best wrestler, she’s the greatest female wrestler of all time. Like I said before, to have two legit world-class athletes. I mean, yeah, you could write the story itself. NCAA track star you know, strength, coordination, athleticism. Bianca Belair [vs.] Charlotte flair. It’s a man event in itself.”

In October, Charlotte’s husband Andrade said that she was off due to “personal reasons” without giving more information.

On Twitter, Charlotte Flair has been posting videos and photos of her training to show that she is in great shape as usual, just like her father said.
