One of AEW’s biggest stars is suffering ahead of Worlds End.

On December 30th, AEW will hold its first-ever December pay-per-view when the company heads to Uniondale, New York for Worlds End.

The card will be topped by the AEW World Championship match between MJF and Samoa Joe, however, the champion is a long way from his physical best.

Coming out of Full Gear it was reported that MJF is dealing with a torn labrum as well as a hip injury, but he’s determined to fight on. Speaking to Solomonster, the star revealed he’s still struggling to lift his arm up properly.

“I got PRP done and something called EPAT where what they do essentially is, it’s almost like shock therapy straight onto the muscle. I’m not going to lie to you, I cannot lift my arm all the way up north south. Point blank. Probably not something I should be discussing publicly. I’m kind of being known for being honest to a fault.

I can’t lose this belt. This world title reign, it means too much to too many people. Most specifically, it means too much to me. I’m going to go in there guns blazing, I’m going to give it 110%. I’ve wrestled Samoa Joe before, hardest match of my reign. I believe I’ve had 11 title defenses, I also hold the world of most title defenses of any world champion in the history of the company.

Of every single match I’ve had, the one where I was in the most physical danger was Joe at Grand Slam. I know what I’m heading into, but I’m going to win because I have to win.”

MJF Shuts Down Talk Of New AEW Deal

It was recently reported that a number of key figures in WWE believe MJF has re-signed with AEW and will be with the company until at least 2027. This is despite the man himself repeatedly stating on AEW television that nothing has been decided.

Speaking elsewhere, MJF recently claimed he hasn’t signed anything with AEW, even though he loves the promotion and wants to stay. The World Champion reiterated that he’ll become a free agent on January 1st, 2024.
