A member of AEW’s Don Callis Family will be on the sidelines after confirming surgery is needed.

Josh Alexander is a former TNA World Champion who worked in TNA for about six years before joining AEW in April 2025.

After signing with AEW, the veteran Alexander quickly joined the heel Don Callis Family, which is managed by his fellow Canadian, Don Callis.

Since Alexander works for AEW, he also wrestles at some independent pro wrestling shows, including Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, which is run by his good friend, Scott D’Amore. Alexander was the Maple Leaf Pro Canadian Champion, but unfortunately, an injury will keep him out of the ring for a long time.

AEW’s Josh Alexander Confirms Upcoming Knee Surgery

At an AEW Collision taping following Dynamite on March 18th, Josh Alexander suffered a knee injury in a match. The referee threw up the dreaded “X” with his hands to signal a real injury, and Alexander was helped to the back during the match.

In a post on X/Twitter, the “Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander confirmed the knee injury and said he just found out that he needs surgery next Wednesday, April 1st.

“I just found out minutes ago how serious this was. I know I’ve been limping and in pain for a week, but my surgeon told me I’m going to need surgery this coming Wednesday, that my knee injury is pretty severe.

So I will not be cleared to compete and there’s no timetable set right now for when I will be back.”

The fact that Alexander said the knee injury is pretty severe could lead to a lengthy layoff if it’s something like a torn ACL that leads to 8-10 months on the shelf, depending on how the surgery goes.

TJRWrestling wishes Josh Alexander all the best for his upcoming knee surgery.
