After plenty of speculation that Carlito’s recent WWE will end up not being a one-off, there’s a new update on his current status.
Rey Mysterio formed a new version of the Latino World Order ahead of WrestleMania, and the faction ended up being heavily involved in the match between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest at Backlash. This included surprise appearances from both Savio Vega and Carlito, with the latter quickly reported to be heading back to WWE on a more permanent basis.
To this point that hasn’t materialised, despite heavy speculation that he was going to be part of last Friday’s SmackDown at the iconic Madison Square Garden. However, it looks like the wheels are still in motion to make the more permanent return happen.
According to Pro Wrestling Insider, Carlito was flown to the North East by WWE ahead of the blue brand’s event, however a WWE source also noted that a return there “would have been lost in the wake of the Bloodline”. The report also noted that the former Intercontinental Champion was seen waiting for a flight from Pittsburgh on Sunday, which is where the company have their medical program based.
In the end, the Latino World Order were only involved in a cameo appearance on the event, which would tie in with it not being the right time for Carlito’s return. If this report is to be believed, then the right time will be in the not too distant future.
