LA Knight Beats Out Steve Austin & John Cena To Set Impressive Record
The surging popularity of LA Knight has seen the “megastar” move ahead of some all-time WWE greats with regard to merchandise.
Over the last few months, there has been a movement among WWE fans when it comes to LA Knight. Even though he was a heel character in 2022 and early in 2023, the fans have turned him into a babyface because of how they react to him.
It seems like every week on Smackdown, LA Knight is getting the loudest crowd reactions out of anybody on the show. The incredible thing is that WWE isn’t pushing him that much right now because he has been left off multiple Premium Live Events this year, he didn’t win the Men’s Money in the Bank and didn’t win a match to get closer to the US Title, yet the fans are still behind him.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that LA Knight’s merchandise topped everybody in WWE, including the legendary John Cena and WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, as well as the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
“Wrestlenomics listed this as the July merch numbers. Top sellers were Knight, Rhodes, Usos, Reigns, Steve Austin, NWO, SummerSlam, Ripley, Cena and Rollins. Top two items were Knight T-shirts, followed by T-shirts from Ripley, Rhodes, Usos, another Knight shirt, Reigns, another Usos, Austin and NWO.”
When a fan tweeted about Knight’s merchandise success, the megastar responded to it.

What’s interesting about it is that Knight only has about 15 merchandise items as of this week while other big names in the country literally have hundreds of items, yet LA Knight tops them all.
LA Knight Will Compete In SummerSlam Battle Royal
It’s WWE SummerSlam taking place this Saturday, August 5th in Detroit and LA Knight will be on the card in the Men’s Battle Royal. That match was officially announced last week on Smackdown with Knight and Sheamus as the first two men announced for it.
While some fans might wonder how many wrestlers will be in that battle royal, LA Knight confirmed on WWE After The Bell that it will be a 20-man battle royal that he plans to win.
As for tonight’s Smackdown one night before SummerSlam, fans of LA Knight will get to see him in action against Sheamus as they each look to build momentum going into SummerSlam on Saturday night.
