Kurt Angle Followed Psychic’s Advice For Major Career Decision

Kurt Angle conducts the crowd

Kurt Angle has admitted that his career could have taken a very different direction after winning Olympic gold, if it wasn’t for an interview with a psychic.

After picking up his Olympic gold medal in Atlanta in 1996, Kurt Angle was seemingly on the radar of WWE very quickly and ended up switching from amateur to professional wrestling three years later.

However, speaking on his Kurt Angle Show, the WWE Hall Of Famer admitted that the lights of stardom in the film industry were looming at one point, only for an interview with a psychic to help change his mind.

In 1996, after the Olympics, I actually went to L.A. I had a friend of mine … You know Dennis Miller? … His brother is Jimmy, he owns Mosaic Talent. He manages Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, all the big stars … He brought me out to LA after the Olympics and we met with production companies and he was getting me really fired up. He wanted me to move out there.

A [different] friend of mine got me a gift, an interview with a psychic. I go to the psychic … The psychic said that if I went out to L.A. right now, all I would do is waste my money from the Olympics … I decided not to go.

The former World Champion made a return to WWE programming on the 29th August edition of Monday Night Raw, where he created an iconic scene with Edge.
