Kenny Omega will be in singles action on the October 18th edition of AEW Dynamite facing an opponent he has never wrestled before.

The next edition of AEW Dynamite will take place on October 18th at the Ford Bend Epicenter Texas in Rosenberg, Texas near Houston. Former AEW World Champion will look to get back on the winning track on that show as he faces a rising young star in singles action.

Kyle Fletcher, who is best known for being part of the Aussie Open tag team, picked up a win on AEW Collision on Saturday to set up the challenge for Omega. Fletcher has been wrestling in singles of late due to tag team partner Mark Davis dealing with an injury. Tony Khan made the match official for Dynamite on Wednesday night.

Even though Kenny Omega is one of AEW’s biggest stars, he wasn’t a part of last week’s “Title Tuesday” episode of Dynamite that went head-to-head with WWE NXT.

While Kenny Omega has picked up a couple of tag team match wins with Chris Jericho, he lost his last singles match against Konosuke Takeshita at AEW All Out in September.

The last time that Kenny Omega won a singles match was the July 5th edition of AEW Dynamite when he beat Wheeler Yuta. Since then, he has been in tag team matches while also losing to Takeshita as mentioned above.

Kenny Omega match is just one of the big matches set for AEW Dynamite on October 18

There are several big matches set for AEW Dynamite next Wednesday in addition to the Omega-Fletcher match. They also have some non-wrestling segments set for the show.

* Kenny Omega vs. Kyle Fletcher

* Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale

* Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Jay White

* We will hear from Sting

* “Timeless” Toni Storm debuts her newest blockbuster film

* Jim Ross sits down with Nick Wayne and his mom

As AEW fans know, the company usually announces more matches on social media in the days leading up to the show.
