Jon Moxley To Defend IWGP World Heavyweight Title On AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley promo on AEW Dynamite

The big matches keep on coming for Jon Moxley.

Jon Moxley returned to AEW on the April 17th edition of Dynamite, fresh off the back of winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at NJPW Windy City Riot. With the victory over Tetsuya Naito still fresh in his memory, Moxley opened the show, cutting a promo about his rise to the top, and the history of the title he now holds, before taking aim at the Don Callis Family.

Moxley then called out Powerhouse Hobbs, challenging him to a match on April 24th.

On the April 20th episode of Collision, Callis upped the stakes on behalf of Hobbs, commenting that he’d cashed in some favours owed to him by NJPW management. This means that the match on Dynamite will now be for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title.

Jon Moxley Claims He’s The Most Disrespected Wrestler Ever

With victory at NJPW Windy City Riot, Jon Moxley made history as he became the first man to hold the World Championship in WWE, AEW, and NJPW. Not that the man himself thinks he’ll get any credit.

Speaking before his match against Naito, Jon Moxley said he’s the most “overlooked, disrespected, forgotten about, taken for granted wrestler in the history of this business.”
