One AEW star feels they’re disrespected.

Jon Moxley has often been the person AEW turns to in times of crisis. While others around him might lose their heads and get caught up in the chaos, Moxley remains a calming presence holding the good ship All Elite Wrestling together.

At NJPW Windy City Riot, Moxley will challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title before heading back to AEW after a short break. Should Moxley win, he’ll become the first man to hold the World Championship in WWE, AEW, and NJPW. The Blackpool Combat Club star is also the only three-time AEW World Champion in history.

Speaking on NJPW’s Road To series ahead of his shot at history, Moxley said it won’t matter if he wins, he’ll still be the most forgotten-about and disrespected wrestler in history.

Shots at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship don’t come around every day. Even if I win, it’s not going to matter. I’ll be the most overlooked, disrespected, forgotten about, taken for granted wrestler in the history of this business. It’s not going to matter, but it means something to me,” he stated.

“I’ve been doing this since I was 19. Since the first championship I ever won. I see the mountain, I climb the mountain. Everybody standing next to me looks up and says it’s too high. ‘You’re not going to do that, you can’t do that.’ I say, ‘Watch me.’ Then, I find a higher one, and I climb that. Then, I find a higher one, and I climb that, and a higher one.

Now, I’m about to do something that nobody in the history of pro wrestling has ever done.”

WWE Didn’t Contact AEW About Jon Moxley

Despite rumours to the contrary, it’s been reported that WWE didn’t contact AEW about booking Jon Moxley for WrestleMania.

The spectacular was headlined by the wild clash between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. When all was said and done, Rhodes finally “finished the story,” in a match packed with run-ins from The Rock, Solo Sikoa, The Usos, Seth Rollins, The Undertaker, and John Cena.

Rollins’ interference was especially notable as he came out to The Shield’s music, in his Shield gear, this sparked online speculation WWE may have attempted to secure Moxley for a guest appearance.
