John Cena’s Ex-WWE Rival Advances In “Last Time Is Now” Tournament
Another former rival of John Cena has advanced to the second round of the “Last Time Is Now” tournament on WWE RAW.
In 2009, Sheamus had a heated rivalry with the Leader of the Cenation. It saw The Celtic Warrior defeat the 48-year-old to capture his first-ever WWE Championship.
The two have since squared off several times, with their final match taking place in 2015 when Cena beat the Irish superstar on Monday Night RAW.
Tonight on the red brand, Sheamus took a step towards having one final clash with the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion. The Celtic Warrior went head-to-head with Shinsuke Nakamura in the first round of the “Last Time Is Now” tournament.
Despite the Japanese star’s efforts, the 47-year-old came out victorious. After the match, the two superstars shook hands in a sign of respect.
ONE STEP CLOSER. 👏

Rusev Also Advanced In John Cena’s Tournament
Earlier on tonight’s show, Rusev squared off with Damian Priest in another first-round match in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament. The Bulgarian star targeted the former World Heavyweight Champion’s injured eyes to secure the victory and advance to the second round.
Like Sheamus, Rusev had a heated feud with John Cena about a decade ago, which witnessed the latter ending the Bulgarian star’s United States Championship reign at WrestleMania.
Over the past few days, The Super-Athlete has been vocal about his desire to get revenge on The Never Seen 17.
