John Cena WrestleMania Tease Dropped On Raw

John Cena WrestleMania

WWE may have given the latest indication as to the involvement of John Cena at WrestleMania 39 with a major tease on Monday Night Raw.

John Cena returned to WWE screens after more than a year away to compete on the final SmackDown of 2022 when he teamed with his old rival Kevin Owens to defeat The Bloodline duo of Sami Zayn and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. This match kept Cena’s streak of competing in a WWE ring in every calendar year since he debuted for the company back in 2002.

Now it seems WWE fans may not have to wait long to see John Cena compete once again in 2023. Cena has long been rumoured to be a part of WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, California as has his fellow wrestling icons The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

WWE seemed to be gearing towards an eventual showdown between Cena and Austin Theory last year before Theory went on somewhat of a losing run as the company’s management changed. But now, WWE United States Champion Theory is the one that has dropped the latest hint that a match with Cena could be in his future.

As Theory entered the ring on the 9th of January edition of Raw with his title, fans were reminded of John Cena as the upstart superstar told the Birmingham, Alabama crowd “The champ is here!”

John Cena hasn’t competed at WrestleMania since 2020 when he was a part of the cinematic Firefly Funhouse match with Bray Wyatt. His last match in the ring at The Show of Shows came in 2018 when he took on The Undertaker in a match that wasn’t confirmed until The Deadman showed up to face Cena.
