John Cena Drops Emotional Message After WWE RAW
John Cena shared a special message for Boston.
On Monday, Cena became an Intercontinental Champion for the first time, thus joining other Grand Slam Champions in the Stamford promotion.
The hometown hero opened the show, but was soon interrupted by Dominik Mysterio.
After he disrespected the 17-time world champion and goaded him, Triple H finalized an impromptu match for the IC title.
In his 20+ years of wrestling career, the only major title that remained elusive for John Cena was the Intercontinental Championship.
After defeating the 28-year-old, Cena took to X to post an emotional message, thanking his hometown for the belief it showed in him throughout the years.
Thank you Boston. It meant so much to be able, for one last time, to be allowed an opportunity to do what I love, in a place I love, surrounded by those I love. Our performances are only meaningful if YOU the audience invest in us and decide they are. The smile on my face and awe… pic.twitter.com/divMEgK9RG
