John Cena captured a major championship on WWE RAW.

The Leader of the Cenation cut an emotional promo in the opening segment of tonight’s episode of RAW in his hometown of Boston. However, he was interrupted by the Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio.

Dirty Dom had a war of words with the 48-year-old legend, in which he claimed he could beat him at any time, any place, any era. WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H quickly jumped in to book an Intercontinental Championship match between The Never Seen 17 and the Judgment Day member.

John Cena Becomes A WWE Grand Slam Champion

Although Dominik Mysterio took a cheap shot at John Cena to start the match, the Leader of the Cenation quickly took control of the bout. Dirty Dom then attempted to leave, but was brought back to the ring by the hometown hero.

During the match, Cena forced Dirty Dom to tap out to the STF. However, the referee was knocked out. The fight, nevertheless, ended after Cena countered a frog splash into an Attitude Adjustment to win the title.

After his title win, which made him a Grand Slam champion, Cena grabbed the microphone to thank the Boston crowd.
