Jim Ross has only recently returned to the AEW commentary desk, but now he’s revealed he’s being forced to miss Dynamite.

2025 was a wild ride for Jim Ross as he’d battled several health problems while remaining determined to continue his career as an announcer.

In May, Ross revealed that he’d been diagnosed with colon cancer. After undergoing surgery, he was back on the commentary desk for All In Texas just two months later, despite also suffering a bad fall just days before that event.

In August, Jim Ross confirmed that he had signed a new AEW contract to keep him with the company until August 2026. In recent years, Ross has scaled back his AEW schedule and has only been working at the promotion’s biggest pay-per-view events.

Jim Ross returned to the announce desk in AEW for Dynamite in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but it seems his planned role for the show in Orlando is now off after another concerning fall.

Jim Ross Suffers Fall That Leaves Him Stranded

Taking to social media, Ross revealed that a fall left him unable to travel to Orlando for Dynamite, but more worringly, it left him stranded on his living room floor for hours:

Great #CFBPlayoff game tonight! Congrats to @IUHoosiers for an amazing win vs @CanesFootball. My trip to Orlando for @AEW Dynamite is postponed due to an untimely fall that saw me lying on my living room floor for 5 hours. I’ll be watching!

Dynamite in Orlando is set to play host to Kenny Omega’s first singles match since All In Texas as he does battle with Josh Alexander. Omega has his eyes on the AEW World Championship, but another man looking to get his hands back on that gold, Swerve Strickland, will also be in action as he takes on one-third of the AEW Trios Champions, Kevin Knight.
